I started planning the look of my app really early on, writing down what screens I wanted, the content, the buttons, the sliders, anything I could think of. I tried to be as specific as I could, creating mind maps with my ideas splattered all over the page. I am somebody that is organised and works better when everything is down on paper so I tried to document my thoughts as I went along. As you can see, I started off designing an app that was PACKED full of content. Every screen had a theme related to food, it was like a visual book full of illustrations. I’m a fancy designer, I stray away from minimal designs and always try to make everything look so beautiful and packed hahaha, I feel like this task really challenged me because I was pushed out of my comfort zone. I did start off using my usual style, but as time went on and I received crucial feedback, my simple design started to blossom. I have evolved as a designer through this module and I have realised that my style shouldn’t be my go to all the time, I need to focus on what design fits the brief and the product.
