Logo Design

This modern, black and white logo design embodies nature and Japanese culture from the cherry blossom flowers to the angled, overlapping straight lined typography. I wanted the logo to be circular with a bold black stroke to make it versatile for use on stickers, labels, business cards and poster designs.

In the centre of the circle there are thick black letters that remember the curves and flicks of Japanese temples. The letters read out the name of the bakery ‘Tetote Factory” and beneath it lies cherry blossom pink typography that reads “Japanese Bakery”. The pop of colour here adds warmth to the design, and draws your eyes into the centre of the logo.

Framing the left side of the logo is a trail of cherry blossom flowers, they curve around the typography in a decorative way, like a ribbon wrapping up a present. It also give a feeling of closeness, because they drape over the circle like it’s a camera lens, making them seem close to your eyes, a bit like curtains on a stage.

The hand drawn mountains on the bottom right of the logo also help to develop perspective in this design. Having the overlapping mountains makes it seem as if the typography is floating in the air and that the viewer is looking at a landscape.
